Waiting for your laptop to “wake up” is a productivity killer. If your machine takes more than 30 seconds to reach the login screen, you have too much “digital weight” slowing it down.
1. Trim Your Startup Apps
Every app you install wants to start the moment you turn on your PC.
- Press
Ctrl + Shift + Esc(Task Manager). - Go to the Startup Apps tab.
- Right-click and Disable anything with a “High” impact that you don’t need immediately (like Spotify, Steam, or Cortana).
2. Enable “Fast Startup”
This is a hybrid mode that saves a “snapshot” of your Windows kernel to the drive for a faster launch.
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
- Click “Choose what the power buttons do.”
- Check Turn on fast startup (recommended).
3. Check Your Boot Order
In your BIOS (usually F2 or Del at startup), ensure your Primary SSD is at the very top of the list. If your laptop tries to check the “Network” or “USB Drive” first, it adds 5-10 seconds of wasted time.
