It is a common frustration: your laptop shows a strong WiFi signal and says “Connected,” but you can’t load a single webpage. The “No Internet, Secured” error usually means your laptop has a valid connection to your router, but the router isn’t talking to the internet, or your laptop’s IP settings are scrambled.
Step 1: The 30-Second Reset
Before changing settings, power cycle your equipment.
- Unplug your router and modem for 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
- Restart your laptop.
- Toggle Airplane Mode ON and OFF to force the wireless card to refresh.
Step 2: Flush the DNS Cache
Sometimes your “map” of the internet (DNS) gets corrupted.
- Search for CMD, right-click it, and select Run as Administrator.
- Type
ipconfig /flushdnsand hit Enter. - Type
netsh winsock resetand hit Enter. - Restart your computer.
Step 3: Disable Your VPN or Antivirus
Third-party security software (like NordVPN or McAfee) often blocks internet access if their “Kill Switch” feature malfunctions. Try disabling them temporarily to see if the connection returns.
